SSINKCS41: Carried Away

I ran out of time this past weekend to get a card sketch card posted for Monday’s SSINK challenge. So instead of being a design team member, I’m going to participate in the challenge today. Click on the sketch to play along with us!  Here’s the sketch we were given:

And here’s the card I came up with! I decided to play with patterns and stamping for this card. The new SAB paper Carried Away is one of my favorites! I love the great color combinations and patterns. So I took three patterns from that pack for the circles and the banner. I then added a simple sentiment, but jazzed it up by using tone on tone stamping to create my own patterned background. Before I glued everything down, I decided the background needed a bit more. Enter the Playful Backgrounds stamp set. A few stamps of these fun circles completed my card.

  • Stamps: Designer Tee (SAB); Playful Backgrounds
  • Inks: Watermelon Wonder; Peekaboo Peach
  • Cardstock: Carried Away DSP (SAB); Watermelon Wonder; Peekaboo Peach
  • Accessories:
  • Tools: Circles Framelits; Triple Banner Punch

SSINKCS40: Classic Christmas

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the sketch below.

SSINkCS40 Dec

I had this leftover stamped sentiment from the My Hero stamp set still sitting on my desk. This sketch was the perfect place for it! I layered on some fun green dsp from the This Christmas packet, but something was missing. Instead of using dsp or a solid piece of cardstock, I decided to emboss some Real Red to compliment the sentiment. Perfect idea!

  • Cardstock: This Christmas DSP; Real Red; Whisper White

SSINKCS39: Warm Christmas

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the sketch below. Sketch cards are always a lot of fun to make.

SSINKCS39 Nov

I had a few pages from the Warmth and Cheer DSP pack leftover from my paper share. I love this fun collection of patterns and colors. So I decided to go with a nontraditional combination of Garden Green and Delightful Dijon. I had a ton of fun mixing and matching patterns to recreate the sketch. A simple, but very visually appealing card.

SSINKCS38 Oct

I decided to make a card full of Foxy Friends. These three cute little friends were then layered onto some coordinating cardstock matching the Moroccan DSP. They came together on the card but something was missing. Thankfully I had some coordinating enamel shapes and washi tape to finish off the card.

SSINKCS37 Sept

One of my first purchases from the new Holiday Catalog was the Cookie Cutter Bundle including the Cookie Cutter Punch and Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set. So adorable! Of course, I had to add the coordinating Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set to have even more fun with the bundle. I had a ton of fun stamping these three beasties and mounting them on the same card. (The set also comes with a scarecrow and some accessories.)  The beasties were cute but needed some great embellishments. Enter the shiny Halloween Night washi tape and some metallic doilies. Such a cute little Halloween themed card!

SSINKCS36 Aug

I wanted to highlight one of the beautiful papers from the Affectionately Yours DSP pack, but which one? Looking at some of my other cards, I realized that I haven’t really used the pattern below. I decided to play off the small flower image and create my own piece of DSP with images from Love and Affection and Friendly Wishes. I added a metallic doily and washi tape to finish my card.

I went very simple with today’s card. I played with a few different pieces of DSP to act as accompany the die cut balloon. The Irresistibly Floral paper is so versatile. This card is so simple, but I love it.

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the sketch below.

SSINKCS34

I decided to have fun layering patterns from the Affectionately Yours DSP. The two pieces with copper foil accents are just gorgeous. They shine so much in real life. Instead of a flower, I decided to add a butterfly to tie the pieces together. After making this card, I’m kicking myself for not preordering the copper embossing powder. Guess what was added to my first June order…

IMG_0937

It’s hard to tell in the first pic, but I used Wink of Stella to give the butterfly a bit of shine.

With the coming of the new catalog, I’ve really been trying to use my current DSP. I tend to hoard the pretty papers… For this card, I wanted to make a fun, bright birthday card. I love the result! I think I’ll use this as a kid birthday card.
