Hello everyone! With the close of every Stampin’ Up Annual Catalog, we have to say goodbye to five In Colors. This May, we will be losing the following colors:
Initially I wasn’t a huge fan of these colors. It seemed to be a odd combination. But over the past two years, I have grown to like all of the colors. In fact, I have grown to love love love Mint Macaron. It will be sad to lose these colors, but I am devastated to lose Mint Macaron. Hands down my favorite! Today I’m celebrating Mint Macaron and giving it a proper sendoff with three fun cards!
My first card is actually one I made using a ton of retired products. I don’t usually hang on to retired stamp sets (preferring to sell them and get new ones), but I have kept two sets that get pulled out time and time again: Four You and Four Feathers! This great monochrome triptych features both of those retired sets plus one current set (Timeless Textures) and a great accessory (Mint Macaron Striped Ribbon). Simple card, yet it highlights the color beautifully.
Stamps: Four Feathers (retired); Four You (retired); Timeless Textures
Inks: Mint Macaron
Cardstock: Mint Macaron; Whisper White
Accessories: Mint Macaron Striped Ribbon
Card two features a Holiday Catalog stamp set that is carrying over! I immediately fell for the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set and Punch and love that I can use it beyond Christmas time. The little suit stamp is perfect as a teddy bear. And I love the color combination of Mint Macaron and Crumb Cake. The soft colors make a great gender neutral baby card. This card also features the In Color DSP pack. I love these packs for great background pieces. SU sells the DSP packs in both In Color collections, Brights, Regals, Subtles, and Neutrals.
Stamps: Cookie Cutter Christmas; Suite Sayings
Inks: Mint Macaron; Crumb Cake; Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: 2015-2017 In Color DSP; Neutrals DSP; Mint Macaron; Whisper White
Finally I am featuring my favorite color combination: Mint Macaron and Rich Razzleberry. Purple is my favorite color and I love the green and purple combo of these two colors. I am again featuring the In Color DSP as my background paper. I kept the main image of the card fairly simple with a jar full of flowers.
Stamps: Jar of Love
Inks: Sweet Sugarplum; Rich Razzleberry; Mint Macaron; Smoky Slate
Cardstock: 2015-2017 In Color DSP; Mint Macaron; Whisper White
Tools: Everyday Jars Framelits
Super sad that we only have a few weeks left with Mint Macaron, but hey, maybe they will eventually bring it back when Stampin’ Up does another color refresh. A girl can dream, right?
Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a Valentine’s Day or love card. I don’t send out Valentine’s Day cards, so I decided to make a more generic love card. I love how thus one turned out. I stamped the jar onto my piece of white and also onto the DSP. I then die the DSP to “fill” the jars. Hint: cut down the die cut DSP just a bit so that it fills the jar instead of covering it up. I then stamped the steams and created my heart flowers. Such a pretty card!
Stamps: Jar of Love
Inks: Old Olive; Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Blooms and Bliss DSP; Gold Foil; Sweet Sugarplum; Whisper White
Tools:Everyday Jar Framelits; Baker’s Box Thinlits (heart shape)
Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a tag. I made this cute little reindeer out of the Foxy Friends stamp set. I really need to play with the set and make some different animals.
Stamps: Foxy Friends; Jar of Love
Inks: Cherry Cobbler; Crumb Cake; Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Wrapped in Warmth DSP; Garden Green; Whisper White
Tools: Scallop Tag Topper Punch; Lots of Labels Framelits; Oval Framelits
Today’s card is one I’m offering at my Christmas Card Buffet. (Click here to join my Meetup group and RSVP) I tried to have a mix of colors, designs. and products. This card is using some of the retired DSP I have stashed away. I decided to go with a nontraditional color scheme. I love the end result. The jar of stars is a cute alternative to a Christmas tree on your Christmas card.
Stamps:Jar of Love; old SU sentiment
Inks: Real Red; Basic Gray
Cardstock:Winter Frost DSP (retired); Real Red; Pool Party; Smoky Slate; Whisper White; Silver Glimmer Paper
Tools: Everyday Jars Framelits; Ovals Framelits; Star Punch (retired)
I decided to make a Halloween card using the colors I found in the picture. I want to featured the great Halloween Night DSP and the Pumpkin Pie Glitter Paper. From there, I decided to add some Halloween stamps but didn’t want to just use one of the big images from the Cookie Cutter Halloween set. Instead, I used the cute little bat in the set. Instead of just stamping the bat, I filled a jar full of bats and had them spill out. Such a fun card!
Stamps: Cookie Cutter Halloween; Labeler Alphabet; Jar of Love
Inks: Pumpkin Pie; Basic Black; Basic Gray
Cardstock: Halloween Night DSP; Pumpkin Pie Glitter Paper; Pumpkin Pie; Smoky Slate; Basic Gray
Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a quick and easy card. I whipped out this fun and colorful card for my All Occasions Card Buffet last month. I love the fun circles and colors. All told, this card took me less than 10 minutes to complete.
Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using my favorite Holiday Catalog accessory. I was immediately drawn to the Petals and Paisleys Suite in the catalog. I’m not a huge ribbon fan, but I had to buy the coordinating Ribbon Trio Pack featuring Mint Macaron, Rich Razzleberry, and Delightful Dijon spools.
I’ve been using these spools of ribbon for a ton of projects and I’m still not sick of them! For this card, I decided to featuring a small strip of Mint Macaron ribbon to “hold” my die cuts in place. I love the pattern mixing and colors of this card!
Stamps: Jar of Love; Paisleys and Posies
Inks: Rich Razzleberry; Mint Macaron
Cardstock: Petals and Paisleys DSP; Copper Foil; Rich Razzleberry; Mint Macaron; Delightful Dijon
Accessories: Mint Macaron Robbon
Tools: Paisley Framelits; Lots of Labels Framelits
I’ve seen a few demonstrators offer this type of class and I thought I would try it out! Just like a buffet, you get to chose the cards you want to make from the various options! $24 gets you 8 cards. You can make 8 cards of one design, 4 cards each of 2 designs, 1 of each 8 designs, or some other combination. I love the idea of allowing the customer some personal choice. For my first card buffet, I went with an all occasions theme. So basically, a mix of different and interesting cards. The buffet is being offered during crop day on Sept. 11th from 10am to 6pm and on Sept. 20 @ 2pm. Email me at email@example.com to secure your spot!
Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a shaker card. Last month I borrowed Sheltering Tree from a friend and ended up stamping some extra trees and images to use later. This simple tree was perfect to build a shaker card from. I added a bit of color directly onto the tree and then repeated the color with some punched confetti stars. The shaker part was missing something so I added some great metallic sequins. Perfect! Some washi tape and a simple sentiment completed the card.
Stamps:Sheltering Tree, Jar of Love
Inks: Early Espresso, Flirty Flamingo, Sahara Sand
Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using our favorite new accessory. Hands down my favorite accessory is the beautiful 2016-2018 In Color Ruched Ribbons! I’m not usually a ribbon lover, but these have changed my opinion. I love the colors and the feel of these ribbons. For this card, I decided to highlight the gorgeous Emerald Envy Ribbon. This card may look complicated, but believe me, it is simple!
