A Collection of Quilts

Merry Christmas Everyone! The boys and I are at my mom’s house in Indiana snuggling up to stay warm and enjoying our lazy day.

Today’s card is the last of my Christmas cards to share with you this year. Simply make a quilt from all the little pieces! In this case, I used the smallest square from the Stitched Shapes Framelits set and die cut 12 squares for each card. If you look, I ended up die cutting 96 squares to make this collection. A lot of cranking! But it was worth it create this amazing collection of cards. And I used use a ton of small scraps laying around. Win win!IMG_6044

Wonderful Scraps

What to do with all the scraps of DSP you inevitably have leftover? Make a fun card with them of course! Siimply cut some DSP down to 3/4″ x  3 3/4″ and create a background pattern. A simple heat embossed sentiment and a few embellishment create a great card! Tomorrow I’ll show you another fun way to use your scraps.IMG_5968

Trio of Christmas Creatures

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create gift packaging. I took one of the old extra large gift boxes and decided to have some fun dressing it up. Two bands of DSP, one envelope punch board created ribbon, and a trio of Christmas creatures make a festive box for gift giving. I went simple, but I think it really turned out quite cute.

Tree of Scraps

For my Christmas card buffet, I created a mix of current SU product cards and supplies from my stash. This card is one of my fun simple cards. I love the look of an abstract Christmas tree utilizing all those great patterned paper scraps. The best part is that this card looks different every time you make it. I can’t wait to see what all the ladies create!

Washi Tape Reindeer

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using our favorite accessories from the Holiday Catalog. Anyone who knows me, knows I love washi tape! It’s always on my ordering list for each new catalog. I couldn’t resist the super fun and festive Pinecones and Presents Washi Tape set.

For my card, I decided to highlight this great accessory without a lot of extra supplies. After adding the sentiment and punched out reindeer, the card was missing that last touch. Thank goodness I had some enamel shapes that matched the color scheme. Perfect!

Razzle and Pool Trees

Another great Christmas card buffet card for today. This one utilizes some great retired Stampin’ Up DSP that I still had laying around the house. I pulled the Pool Party from the DSP to create a nontraditionally colored Christmas card. I layered on some stamped trees to create more visual interest. Then I went a little crazy with the embellishments. The card cried for some bling (hence the rhinestones), but the sentiment looked to plain by itself on the paper. The two ribbons layered underneath helped to fill that void. As an afterthought, I pulled out these great little snowflake brads. Perfect touch!

SSINKCS39: Warm Christmas

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the sketch below. Sketch cards are always a lot of fun to make.

SSINKCS39 Nov

I had a few pages from the Warmth and Cheer DSP pack leftover from my paper share. I love this fun collection of patterns and colors. So I decided to go with a nontraditional combination of Garden Green and Delightful Dijon. I had a ton of fun mixing and matching patterns to recreate the sketch. A simple, but very visually appealing card.

Hello Santa

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card with our favorite Christmas stamp. Of course I had to make a card using the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp.

I love the little figures and this little Santa Claus is just the cutest. I decided to keep my card design simple to focus on the beautiful paper and stamped image.

Candy Cane Lane Box

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a 3D Project. I choose a cute little box featuring the beautiful Candy Cane Lane DSP. This box looks complicated, but I assure you, it’s super easy to put together. I followed the directions from Angie Kennedy Juda’s great little video. As an added bonus, it took me less than 10 minutes to finish. Perfect for little gifts.

Ribbons and Twine

Well, the SSINK Design Team pulled a fast one on me. I had this post all set-up for a blog hop, but it turns out they did a special baby shower post for me. Check it out here.  The ladies made such cute little projects! But I still made a card for our supposed Ribbons and Twine blog hop. Check it out below!

The challenge was to create a card using ribbon or twine from the Holiday Catalog. I didn’t end up buying any ribbon or twine, but I did buy the awesome Metallic Thread Combo featuring Emerald Envy and Cherry Cobbler. I love how the thread adds a little bit of shine to projects. It’s hard to see in the pictures on the blog, but the Emerald Envy thread adds a ton of personality to this rather simple card.
